Equestrian
The Knox School offers students the opportunity to pursue their equestrian interests.
Riding Lessons
Riding lessons are offered from Year 2 to Year 12, in a four weekly blocks throughout the year. These take place at Balmoral Equestrian Centre, Narre Warren North, in the indoor arena. Students not only partake in riding lessons but also participate in theory lessons.
Balmoral offers our riders access to the best facilities available. The Equestrian Centre has become well known for its high standard of training, tuition and above all, an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere.
The Equestrian Program
The Knox School Equestrian Programme is designed for students of all ages and ability levels and riders progress at their own pace. Students are offered lessons in groups of eight accordingly. As learning progresses, students can focus on their area of interest, whether it be dressage or jumping. The Knox School Equestrian Program focuses on positive experiences and having fun. The program stresses the fundamentals of riding technique, theory of equitation, horse care and above all safety.
The Equestrian Team
Many of our students are advanced riders who are selected to be part of the Knox Equestrian team and compete at local and regional inter-school horse shows. The aim is to participate in the sport in a competitive arena with other schools. The team's focus is not about "blue ribbons", but about being a member of a team, collegiate support for each other, the enjoyment and excitement of participating in inter-school horse shows. The Knox School's Equestrian team has been very successful at many inter-school competitions.
