In 2008 The Knox School opened our state of the art Hospitality and Food Technology Centre. We offer Food Technology as an elective to Year 9 and 10 students where they will learn about topics such as basic methods of cookery, foods from around the world, café operations and function and event co-ordination.

As the students enter VCE they have the opportunity to select VET/VCE Hospitality. At the successful completion of Unit 1 & 2 students will receive a Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations) along with Responsible Service of Alcohol. When completing Units 3 & 4 students will receive a Statement of Attainment of units completed towards Certificate III in Hospitality (Food and Beverage Operations). This will not only assist with students ENTER scores but also offer credit to courses entered post-secondary. Within VET Hospitality students will develop knowledge and skills within the kitchen and front of house (bar and wait skills).

The Hospitality Centre features a variety of commercial ovens, a deep fryer, griddle plate, salamander, a fully equipped bar and a 24 seat café, allowing students to prepare and present many amazing dishes and beverages in an environment that mimics the industry standard.
