Information Technology


The Information Technology curriculum engages students in a variety of learning activities that involve practical computer based work in either groups or individually.

Through the study of Information Technology students will develop:

  • A systematic and creative approach to generating technological solutions, particularly in transforming data into information by applying a range of techniques and using equipment and procedures designed to gather, organise, store, retrieve, generate and communicate information
  • Skills in analysis and interpretation of information including an understanding of the nature, uses and misuses of information and the reliability of that information
  • An understanding of the role of information in society
  • A sense of self-confidence and self-sufficiency in dealing with technology
