Through the study of Visual Arts, students are given the opportunity to create visual forms to express their individual feelings, ideas, understandings, perceptions and relationships.
The artwork is a reflection of each student’s values, beliefs and attitudes that are drawn from cultural and social sources and from stimuli found in the natural and built environment. Visual Arts allow students to communicate to others, to express ideas and to illustrate meanings and relationships.
Classes are conducted in an environment where students are encouraged to freely express themselves and communicate their ideas through a range of visual mediums. Their artistic journey takes them through the skills of painting, drawing, ceramics and sculpture.
Visual Arts at The Knox School is an integral part of the curriculum.
