The Knox School offers students the opportunity to pursue their equestrian interests.

Riding Lessons

Private riding lessons are offered to students from Prep to Year 12 in a six weekly block throughout the year. Each week the students are involved in one hour of practical riding with a qualified instructor and one hour of horse management and theory. Lessons take place in the indoor arena at the Balmoral Equestrian Centre in Narre Warren North. The Centre has become well known for its high standard of training, trustworthy mounts, tuition and above all, an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere. The program is always a highlight for our students.

The Equestrian Program

The Knox School Equestrian Program is a unique program designed for students of all ages and ability levels providing them with a
hands-on experience. Students are able to participate in private lessons on trustworthy mounts. As learning progresses, students can focus on their area of interest, whether it is dressage or jumping. The program focuses on positive experiences and having fun, stressing the fundamentals of riding technique, theory of equitation, horse care and above all, safety.

The Equestrian Team

Many of our students are advanced riders who are selected to be  part of the Knox Equestrian team and compete at local and regional inter-school horse shows. The aim is to participate in the sport in a competitive arena with other schools. The team's focus is not about "blue ribbons", but about being a member of a team, collegiate support for each other, the enjoyment and excitement of participating in inter-school horse shows. The Knox School's Equestrian team has been very successful at many inter-school competitions.
