Students at The Knox School have the opportunity to begin their Commerce studies at Year Nine Level. An introduction into basic concepts such as Accounting and Legal studies provide students with an insight into future studies within the faculty. The dynamic semester length program combines core curriculum with case study research and application. Students will have the opportunity present their work is a variety of methods, utilising a range of technologies.

Year Ten Commerce has been divided into four distinct studies over two semesters. Students may either undertake one semester or an entire year study as they tackle the key subjects of Accounting, Business Management, Legal Studies and Economics. The curriculum has been structured to enable practical application and a range of innovative assessment. Students travel on a number of excursions including the Melbourne Magistrates Court and Parliament. Year Ten Commence is a key stepping stone into VCE studies within the faculty.     

VCE Commerce studies include Accounting, Business Management, Legal Studies and Economics. Whilst driven by the VCAA curriculum, students enrolled in Commerce subjects, particularly in Year Eleven, are provided with the opportunity to actively apply their knowledge through structured activities. These include the planning and undertaking of a  small business, using advanced accounting software and partaking in a national stock market competition. Students are offered both Unit 1/2 and 3/4 sequences in Year Eleven and Twelve respectively. Acceleration is available for those students who receive approval via the necessary channels.
