Transition to Prep

The Knox School considers the orientation process for its Prep students as a vital part of the process of transition from Kindergarten, Pre-School or the Early Learning Centre to School. All Prep students are able to visit the School on a number of occasions, either formally or informally, in order to become familiar with the surroundings, students and staff. Research shows that a well-structured orientation program is likely to ensure a smooth transition to school.

The Head of The Junior School interviews all prospective students and their parents and a tour of the Prep classroom is offered. Early in Term Four, parents are invited to a Prep Information Evening.  The evening provides parents with the necessary information for the start of school whilst also allowing them to meet other parents and staff in a relaxed setting.  The Prep Orientation program consists of three morning visits to the school prior to commencing their Prep year.
