What makes us different?
Your
school fees are all inclusive. There are no hidden extras.
The
Knox School differentiates the program to cater for individual learning.
We
are a small, supportive and nurturing community. Your child will be well
cared for. Our staff prides itself on knowing and caring for all members
of each child's family.
Every
child and their family is known personally by the Principal and teaching staff.
Our
doors are always open for you to chat about your child (or anything else
for that matter.)
Your
child's social and emotional wellbeing are just as important to us as
their academic outcome.
Our
small class size policy carries right through the entire School - not
just our Junior School.
As
well as benefitting from small classes, the students in Junior School
also enjoy special classes in Art, Library, Sport and PMP, Drama, Music
(including percussion and violin) LOTE and singing.
Our
facilities are excellent and available to all students.
We
do not have compulsory Saturday sport.
Our
specialist classes are staffed by experts in their field, not just a
staff member who happens to be available.
The
unique and popular music program from Prep to Year 2 teams a percussion
specialist with a classroom teacher to develop rhythmic perception
and an understanding of music and movement.
Each
child from Year 3 to Year 7 receives free music tuition on a rotation
of orchestral instruments with opportunities to become part of our musical
ensembles.
Each
Junior year level (and Pre-Prep) holds an annual musical production
with a role for every student.
Year
4 students have the opportunity to apply for a leadership position.
Students
can take advantage of a variety of lunchtime clubs and activities such
as dance, choir, art, calligraphy and public speaking.
We
have both a full time registered nurse and counsellor on staff to assist
students and families.
Our
teachers believe that learning should be fun.
