The Knox School provides a comprehensive Student Services Program delivered by a diverse and multi-skilled team. Individual counselling sessions, group support, specialist program development, staff discussions and working with families are all available to enhance the continuing health and wellbeing of the school community.

Counselling services are provided to assist students, their parents and staff with a range of issues inclusive of, but not limited to:

Relationships and social issues

Learning problems and learning enhancement

Depression, sadness and feeling ‘down’

Anxiety, worry and fears

Developmental disorders

Drug and alcohol issues

Individual team members work with teaching staff to assist in the delivery of proactive programs to educate our school community about mental health issues, social skills, drug and alcohol awareness and the identification and remediation of learning problems.

Referral and or access to the services is by appointment and students may self refer or be referred by a teacher or parent. An open door policy is adopted for emergencies. Alternatively appointments may be made via telephone or email.

Members of the Student Services Program are bound by relevant Health and Privacy Legislation and treat all information as confidential. There are however exceptions to the right to confidentiality with respect to situations which involve danger to the person or to someone else. If you are concerned about confidentiality, please contact one of our Counsellors.
