This past week has been a significant one at The Knox School, as we came together to celebrate Fathers’ Day and recognise the important people in our students’ lives.
In the ELC and Prep to Year 3 classrooms, students and their fathers or special people enjoyed an activity morning. This event reminded us of the importance of creating spaces where children can bond with those who play crucial roles in their lives. I would like to thank Mr Nealon for the great performance he organised and prepared the students for. It was fantastic!
I had the pleasure of chatting with several dads and special friends during the activity morning. They were involved in activities from handprint making to building recycled marble runs! These activities are not just about celebrating Fathers’ Day; they are about celebrating the relationships that shape our students’ lives. We recognise that families come in many forms, and these events provide an opportunity for all students to acknowledge the special people who support them, and for our School to emphasise the value of these relationships.
I am very much looking forward to our second annual Car Show on the hockey pitch this afternoon. This event brings together not just fathers and their children, but the entire School community. It’s a celebration of our shared interests, a showcase of creativity and passion, and a chance for us all to come together outside the classroom.
Why do we place such importance on these community events? Because at The Knox School, we believe that a strong, connected community is the foundation of a successful educational environment. When parents, students, and staff come together, all the research shows that student learning increases.
Behind every successful event is a dedicated team of staff, parents, and volunteers who work tirelessly to make it all possible. Thank you for all of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes; it is truly commendable. The children love coming to School with money and going shopping in the Atrium!
I feel very lucky to be spending time with my Dad on Sunday, and I am always grateful for his advice. Happy Fathers’ Day to everyone in our community. I know this means something different to everyone.
