All staff at The Knox School value and model life-long learning. Staff engage in whole day events, as well as a weekly ninety-minute personal and professional development program designed around choice in how to shape their own professional learning and well-being. Planned around project-based work, the weekly program encourages staff to select options of interest from a large range of peer-designed projects that support classroom learning. Staff contribute to how the weekly projects will provoke educational thought and collaborate with like-minded colleagues to continually enrich the design, delivery and assessment of curriculum, personalised learning and pastoral care of students.
Each year staff are offered the opportunity to apply for a Teaching Fellowship. The Fellowship values the educational expertise at The Knox School and contributes to staff to being at the leading edge of their profession through international or national conferences, or via time release to develop a substantial unit of Curriculum & Pedagogy.
A culture of measured risk and innovation, backed by care and empathy for each other, the professional development program at The Knox School provides a rich and supportive environment for all staff to grow, connect and showcase their own professional learning at regular intervals with colleagues.
