Red Carpet, Great Tunes and Big Smiles: Year 11 Social Recap

Moments beyond the classroom can be just as powerful in shaping students. On Friday 26 July, our Year 11 students traded books for bow ties and pencil cases for clutch bags as they stepped into a night of fun, friendship and fabulous memories at the 2025 Year 11 Social.

The event, held at Box Hill Golf Club, was an opportunity for students to celebrate their shared journey in style. Dressed in formal attire and full of excitement, students arrived in style on the red carpet, greeted by flashing cameras and a warm welcome from Mr Dolbey, who snapped photos as everyone made their entrance.

Inside, the atmosphere buzzed with energy. A mountain of delicious food kept everyone fuelled, while a much-loved photobooth became the centrepiece for candid shots, goofy props and keepsakes for the students to treasure.

But the true star of the night? Mr Morais, also known as DJ Sparkles, who took over the DJ decks and kept the dance floor alive with non-stop tunes. From classic anthems to current hits, there was a song for everyone and no shortage of dancing (students and teachers alike).

“The Year 11 Social was a great night to hang out with friends and connect with others across our year level,” said one student. “It gave everyone a chance to relax, have fun, and enjoy some time away from the usual school routine.’

Another student stated: ‘The atmosphere was lively, with good music and opportunities to catch up and make new memories of an unforgettable night together.”

It’s fun events like these school socials that remind us how important celebrations are to student wellbeing. Creating space for students to come together socially help foster not just friendships, but confidence, belonging and joy.

A big thank you to the staff who made the night run so smoothly, and to our students for bringing such a positive, respectful and uplifting vibe.
