Father's Day Car Show 2025

On Friday, 5 September, The Knox School grounds came alive for the annual Father’s Day Car Show. A much-loved tradition in the calendar, the event once again drew an incredible turnout of families, alumni, car enthusiasts and community supporters.

Now in its third year, the Car Show was initiated by then School Captain, Eshan Mirash, with the support of the Prefects and Student Led Portfolio Team (SLPT), and has grown into a powerful example of what happens when student leadership, passion and purpose combine. This year, the event continued its partnership with Drive Against Depression (DAD), a registered mental health charity that uses car culture to initiate meaningful conversations about wellbeing.

The afternoon brought together an impressive lineup of vehicles, alongside delicious food, merchandise stalls and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Thanks are extended to the Music Department and DJ Sparkle for their support, with student bands providing great performances, adding to the vibrant environment.

For co-organiser Ahmed Tawfik (Year 12), who worked alongside Alex Stefanakos and alumni Eshan Mirash and staff, including Mrs Bright, Mr Bimbi and Ms Higgs, the highlight was the sense of connection across every part of the event:

“What really stood out was the strength of our community: from the volunteers running around behind the scenes, to the families, friends, and Drive Against Depression team, along with the Macchina Veloce Club who showed up in full support with our best lineup of cars yet! Together, we raised over $1,400, a result that shows just how much of an impact we can make when we come together for a cause.”

That impact was clear. While the show raised $1,457.58 for Drive Against Depression, Ahmed noted that the day was about much more than fundraising:

“We set out to raise awareness with Drive Against Depression, but what we walked away with was even more powerful: proof that when people come together, real change and connection can happen. The day reminded us why community matters, and why conversations around mental health are so important.”

In true TKS spirit, the event was supported by a team of student and staff volunteers, including student photographers Linda He and Ahmed Tawfik, who captured the excitement of the day.
