Exploring Sustainability at Edendale Farm

On Wednesday, 29 October, our Year 4 students enjoyed a fantastic day of hands-on learning at Edendale Farm. With the sun shining, students explored sustainability, local habitats and the journey of food from farm to table.

Through interactive workshops, they discovered their Food Footprint, learning how far food travels before reaching our plates and why choosing local produce can make such a difference for the environment. They also investigated local ecosystems, meeting some of the animals that call Edendale home and discussing practical ways we can help protect these natural spaces.

A highlight of the day was the farm tour, where students had the opportunity to meet, feed and care for a variety of friendly farm animals. To finish off an already memorable day, the group enjoyed some well-earned playtime at the Eltham playpark before returning to school.

It was a wonderful day of learning, laughter and connection with nature, one that brought the Year 4 sustainability studies to life in the best possible way.
