Prep to Year 3 Stories That Sing Concert

Last Thursday, 30 October, our Prep to Year 3 students took to the stage for the Stories That Sing concert, performing the delightful tale of Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses.

In this uplifting story, Pete discovers a pair of magic sunglasses that help him see the positive side of life’s challenges. With his newfound perspective, he shares the glasses with others in need of a little sunshine, helping them find joy and confidence in difficult moments.

Over 160 students performed to a full auditorium, telling the story through song, movement, and expression. Each piece featured music the students had been learning throughout the year, showcasing not only their musical growth but also their creativity and collaboration. Each class brought their own ideas to life, incorporating unique actions, movements, and leadership opportunities that highlighted student agency and creativity throughout the performance.

Adding to the magic, all costumes and props were made by the students themselves, with the Junior School Art Club lending their creative talents to the set and accessories.

The Stories That Sing concert was more than a performance; it was a celebration of learning, imagination, and teamwork. Our youngest performers did a remarkable job, and we could not be prouder of their enthusiasm, courage, and joy on stage.
