A festive finish to the year at the Twilight Festival

The rain held off just long enough to create the perfect backdrop for one of the most joyful and festive events on The Knox School calendar. Over 800 people joined us on campus for the annual Twilight Festival, with the evening offering something for every member of our community to enjoy. Now in its fourth year, the Twilight Festival continues to grow in scale, energy and community spirit, and this year showed just how strongly our families, students and staff have embraced it.

The Festival featured 15 market stalls, including two proudly run by our students. Our Taste of Knox cookbooks were a crowd favourite and helped raise $780 for Eastern Food Rescue. Families enjoyed free arts and crafts thanks to Camp Australia, while hair braiders and face painters added extra colour and fun across the grounds.

Knox Hockey Club returned to campus to run an interactive skills zone that delighted students and families. The club has a long history with the School from their time using our Hockey Pitch, so welcoming them back felt like reconnecting with old friends. Orana Neighbourhood House also joined us to showcase their partnership with our Year 9 CUBE students and to highlight the activities and services they offer to the local community.

Scoresby CFA brought their fire truck to campus for a Show and Tell session that captured the attention of children and adults alike. Families explored the equipment, asked questions and heard important messages about fire safety and preparing homes for summer.

The stage came alive with performances from the TKS Bands, bringing together students from across the School along with our talented staff musicians. The atmosphere lifted again when resident DJ Sparkles (Mr Morais) took over, creating a joyful and energetic environment that carried throughout the night. We thank our Music Department for their thoughtful preparation and the outstanding showcase of student talent.

The Christmas Windows were a favourite highlight with many attendees commenting how magical they looked, and some even saying they rivalled the iconic Myer windows in the city. This stunning display was created by the TKS Community Engagement Team, the Parent Ambassadors and the Library team. Their creativity has continued to brighten our campus with the windows remaining in place all week.

The Giving Tree collection once again reflected the kindness of our community. Hampers were overflowing with donations that will go directly to families supported by The Salvation Army. A special thank you goes to The Knox Knitters for their thoughtful handmade gifts.

Parent Ambassadors also passed on their gratitude for all the second-hand uniform donations received throughout the term. They look forward to sharing news early next year about an exciting new initiative that will support families across the School.

The energy across campus at this year’s event showed how much the TKS community values spending time together, sharing experiences and celebrating the end of the school year in a way that feels warm, welcoming and distinctly Knox.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to creating another unforgettable Twilight Festival next year.
