This week, our Year 8 students headed to Anglesea for an enriching camp experience that encouraged independence, teamwork and personal growth. Throughout the week, students were supported by their peers and teachers as they embraced new challenges and developed important life skills.

Camp provided the perfect opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones and into their growth zones. By trying new activities and working together, students strengthened their confidence, resilience and sense of responsibility, all important qualities as they continue to grow as young adults.

Students enjoyed a wide range of exciting activities designed to challenge and inspire them. These included surfing, kayaking, bike riding, hiking and tree surfing, where they navigated high ropes and zip lines. Students also explored the local environment through activities focused on the Anglesea coastline and rock pools and even had the chance to create their own sculptures.

Evenings were filled with fun and connection, with students taking part in activities such as a talent show and movie night.

The camp also encouraged students to take on greater responsibility. Each group worked together to cook their own dinners and assist with meal preparation, building teamwork, independence and practical life skills.

Overall, the Anglesea camp provided many memorable moments, allowing students to achieve personal milestones, strengthen friendships and extend their learning beyond the classroom through hands-on experiences in the natural environment.
