
On Thursday 21 May, Senior Ensembles and Year 5 and 6 BASE program students had the exciting opportunity to attend an educational concert by the internationally renowned Hot Potato Band.
This special performance was designed to inspire students by showcasing what can be achieved through confidence, creativity, energy, and musical collaboration. From the moment the band began playing, students were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere and high-energy performance style.
Bursting with colour, charisma, and infectious enthusiasm, the Sydney-based brass collective transformed the performance space into an interactive musical experience. Known for breaking down the barrier between stage and audience, Hot Potato Band encouraged students to engage with the music and experience the joy and excitement of live performance.
Students experienced a vibrant showcase of musicianship, movement, humour, and audience interaction as the band demonstrated their unique approach to contemporary brass performance. Their ability to combine outstanding musical skill with spontaneity and entertainment created an atmosphere filled with excitement and joy.
The concert was an inspiring and highly motivating experience for our young musicians, providing a memorable example of the power of live music performance and the creativity that can flourish through collaboration and confidence.
