From The Knox School to the world stage.
The Knox School community is delighted to congratulate alumnus Jackson Irvine and the Socceroos on their impressive 2–0 victory over Türkiye in Australia’s opening FIFA World Cup match in Vancouver.
After proudly wishing Jackson and the Australian squad the very best ahead of the tournament, it was inspiring to see the Socceroos begin their campaign with such determination, discipline and teamwork. The result marked a fantastic start against a highly regarded opponent and demonstrated the composure and commitment that have put the Socceroos in a strong position moving forward.
For The Knox School community, seeing Jackson represent Australia on football’s biggest stage is a source of immense pride. His journey from TKS student to Socceroos vice-captain continues to inspire our students to pursue their passions, work hard and embrace opportunities with confidence.
As the green and gold celebrated an important three points, students, staff, families and alumni across our community were cheering from afar. Moments like these remind us of the power of dedication, perseverance and believing in what is possible.
As excitement builds, we’re looking forward to cheering on Australia again when the Socceroos take on the USA at 5:00am (AEST) this Saturday 20 June in Seattle.
We’ll be setting our alarms bright and early as we join fans across the country in supporting Jackson and the green and gold on football’s biggest stage.
Well played, Jackson. The Knox School is proud to stand behind you and the Socceroos.
