The Sports Centre was buzzing with energy on Friday 31 July as our Early Learning Centre students took part in one of the most anticipated events on the ELC calendar, the annual Mini Olympics.
With colourful equipment, upbeat music and plenty of cheering from family members, educators and student leaders, our youngest learners were soon off and moving. Running, jumping, balancing, throwing and climbing their way through a range of activities, students proudly put their developing movement skills into action while having plenty of fun along the way.
From obstacle courses and relay races to beanbag throws, balance challenges and jumping stations, there was action everywhere you looked. Students tackled each activity with enthusiasm, determination and big smiles, with many eager to have another turn and beat their previous effort. Throughout the morning, students encouraged one another, celebrated successes and showed great sportsmanship as they moved from station to station.
A special highlight was the support of our Year 6 leaders, who ran each activity station with patience, enthusiasm and care. Whether demonstrating a skill, offering encouragement or celebrating a well-earned achievement, they helped our youngest students feel confident and supported throughout the event. Their leadership was a wonderful example of The Knox School values in action.
The Sports Centre was filled with laughter, cheers and plenty of proud moments as students challenged themselves, showed resilience and embraced every activity with confidence. Seeing their excitement as they crossed a finish line, landed a beanbag toss or completed an obstacle course was a reminder that physical activity can be just as much about confidence, courage and having a go as it is about athletic skill.
Thank you to our dedicated ELC team, our Year 6 leaders and the families who joined us to support our young athletes. The Mini Olympics was a wonderful celebration of movement, participation and fun, and a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase just how far they have come.
