Creativity, courage and artistic excellence were on full display recently as twelve talented TKS students from Years 7 to 11 showcased their work in the prestigious Young@Art Exhibition, held at The Hut Gallery in Ferntree Gully.

Bringing together young artists from across the City of Knox, the exhibition provides students with the unique opportunity to present their work in a professional gallery setting. Featuring an impressive range of drawing, painting and digital artworks, the exhibition celebrates the creativity and individuality of young people from across the region.

We are especially proud to share that several TKS students were recognised at the exhibition’s awards presentation over the weekend, achieving outstanding success among a highly competitive field of emerging artists.

Congratulations to Year 8 Students:

  • Pearl D – First Place and Packers Prize
  • Cloris J – Second Place
  • Oscar W – Encouragement Award

These achievements are a wonderful recognition of the talent, dedication and passion our students have invested in developing their artistic practice. To be acknowledged in a regional exhibition of this calibre is an exceptional accomplishment and reflects the high standard of creative work being produced by our students.

Just as importantly, congratulations to all twelve TKS students whose artworks were selected for exhibition. Having work displayed in a public gallery is a significant achievement and demonstrates the confidence, commitment and willingness to share creative ideas with a wider audience.

At TKS, we believe the Arts play a vital role in helping students find their voice, express their perspectives and develop the confidence to think creatively. Opportunities such as Young@Art allow students to take their learning beyond the classroom, engage with the broader community and experience what it means to be a practising artist.

A special thank you to Mr Chris Hilton and the TKS Technology, Art & Design Department for their ongoing encouragement, expertise and dedication. Their commitment to nurturing creativity and providing authentic opportunities for students continues to inspire young artists to pursue their passions and share their talents with confidence.

We are incredibly proud of all our exhibiting artists and the way they continue to embody the TKS values through their creativity, perseverance and willingness to embrace new opportunities.

The Young@Art Exhibition remains on display at The Hut Gallery, Ferntree Gully, for the coming weeks, and we encourage members of the TKS community to visit and support these talented young artists.
