The Knox School’s impressive Victorian Schools Music Festival (VSMF) season continued last week, with Murana Voices and Senior Choir both earning Silver Awards for their performances.
Our Junior School choir, Murana Voices, performed at the Box Hill Salvation Army Arts Centre on Tuesday 8 September, followed by Senior Choir on Wednesday 9 September. Both ensembles represented the School with enthusiasm and professionalism, delivering performances that showcased the dedication and preparation that had gone into the festival experience.
VSMF provides students with the opportunity to perform in renowned venues, receive feedback from experienced adjudicators and work alongside leading music educators. Just as importantly, it encourages students to learn from other school ensembles and experience the energy of a shared musical community.
For many students, the festival is an opportunity to step outside the classroom and perform in a new environment, drawing on the skills they have developed through rehearsals and ensemble work. The Silver Awards are a wonderful recognition of the commitment shown by both choirs throughout the year.
We are incredibly proud of the way Murana Voices and Senior Choir represented The Knox School. Their performances reflected not only their musical growth, but also the supportive and collaborative culture that sits at the heart of our choral program.

With Silver Awards for both choirs, alongside the recent successes of our string ensembles, bands and instrumental groups, this year’s Victorian Schools Music Festival has highlighted the remarkable depth of talent across The Knox School’s music program.
