BASE Concert Showcases Young Talent

The BASE Concert on Wednesday 19 November was a wonderful celebration of talent and teamwork, with students from the Year 5 to 7 Concert Band and Strings ensemble performing to a full house in the Auditorium. These young musicians have dedicated themselves to refining their ensemble skills throughout the year and have taken great pride in their musical growth. They have embraced the joy of performing alongside their peers and formed lasting friendships through their shared love of music.

Beyond the performance itself, students demonstrated admirable leadership and responsibility. Many assisted with ushering, supported side-of-stage transitions and even wrote their own scripts for the event. Their contributions behind the scenes were just as impressive as their work on stage.

A highlight of the term was the participation of Year 6 BASE, Year 7 Band and Junior Band in the Victorian Schools Music Festival, where they received glowing feedback from a guest clinician and had the privilege of performing at Hawthorn Town Hall. It was an inspiring experience that strengthened their confidence and musicianship.

We extend our sincere thanks to families and teachers for their ongoing encouragement and support of both the students and the BASE Program. Their commitment continues to provide our young musicians with opportunities to grow, connect and shine.
