Celebrating Achievement Across The Knox School

At The Knox School, students grow in ways that are anything but ordinary. They try new things, stretch beyond their comfort zone and discover the power of perseverance. This term, our community has even more to celebrate, with students across the School demonstrating resilience, courage and remarkable talent in a wide range of pursuits.

Celebrating Wendy Weng’s Writing Journey

When Wendy joined The Knox School in Year 5 after moving from China, the challenge of learning English felt enormous. Through resilience, curiosity and a love of storytelling, Wendy has transformed her writing and her confidence.

A breakthrough moment came in Year 6 when she learned about literary techniques. She describes that lesson as a key that opened her mind. Since then, Wendy has written passionately, creating vivid stories where language leaps off the page.

Her latest short story, part of a joyful collection about the adventures of fruit in a bowl, shows just how far she has come. Wendy’s progress is a wonderful reflection of her determination and the supportive learning environment she has embraced.
