On Tuesday 1 April 2025, our Year 4 students embarked on an extraordinary journey – without ever leaving the classroom! As part of their exciting Languages curriculum, the students travelled from China to France in a special Parent Showcase event, bringing cultures, languages and traditions from both countries to life.
Year 4 students greeted their parents with cheerful Chinese phrases, demonstrating their newly acquired language skills. And the adventure didn’t stop there! After exploring China, we quickly boarded our metaphorical plane and “flew” to France. Students showcased their understanding of the French language, introducing themselves and demonstrating their ability to converse in French through basic greetings and vocabulary.
Throughout the showcase, parents were not only able to marvel at their children’s impressive language skills – and give things a try themselves! – but also get a taste of the cultural activities and crafts that had been incorporated into the learning experience. This was a valuable opportunity for them to get a peek into their child’s classroom language learning.
