Diwali on the quad
On the afternoon of Tuesday 21 October, The Knox School community came together to celebrate Diwali, the Indian Festival of Light. The quad was filled with colour, creativity and the joyful sounds of music and laughter as students from both Junior and Senior School joined in the celebration.
The event was a beautiful expression of Diwali’s message, the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Students created and decorated their own diyas (traditional oil lamps) using clay and paper plates and designed vibrant lanterns to symbolise hope and positivity.
Many students also took part in colouring and drawing rangolis, intricate patterns that welcome good fortune and happiness. At the “Corner of Light” board, they left heartfelt wishes for their friends, families and community, reflecting on kindness, gratitude and the joy of giving.
Festive music and glowing lights brought the quad to life, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and celebration. It was a moment to pause, share culture and appreciate the diversity that makes The Knox School community so special.
