Big Smiles and Little Champions
The Sports Centre was buzzing with excitement on 1 August as our youngest learners took centre stage for one of the most joyful events on the ELC calendar, the annual Mini Olympics.
Set to upbeat music and surrounded by a sea of colourful equipment, TKS Early Learning Centre students leapt into action with enthusiasm and energy. Designed to develop fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, balancing and throwing, each station gave children the chance to show what they’ve been learning through active play in a safe and supportive environment.
From bean bag tosses and hurdles to obstacle courses and relay races, every child had a chance to shine taking everything on with determination on their faces and enthusiasm. The highlight was watching our students cheer one another on, take turns with patience, and celebrate every small success together. These moments of teamwork and empathy are as important as any physical skill.
An extra highlight of the day were our amazing Year 6 leaders. Each station was led by a Year 6 leader who was guiding and demonstrating the activities, encouraging our littlest athletes, all whilst showing great care and responsibility. Their calm presence and positive attitude helped create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere. TKS’s values were being demonstrated across all students on the day, from celebrating each other’s achievements and wins, to showing resilience and respect and care towards each other when they fell.
Our educators were filled with pride as they watched growing confidence and coordination unfold across the room. The smiles and laughter from the centre could be heard across campus.
A heartfelt thank you to our ELC team, our Year 6 leaders, Mr Jeffs, Mrs Knight and all the families who came along to support. We can’t wait to see how these little champions continue to grow, one leap, toss and high-five at a time.
