The Knox School scholarships give exceptional students the opportunity to achieve their best.
The Knox School is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of scholarships in the following categories each year.
The amount offered with each scholarship will be at the discretion of the Principal. It is our expectation that in accepting a scholarship from the School, that parents understand that the commitment is binding and until the completion of Year 12.

Current Scholarship Opportunities
The Knox School will offer a limited number of General Excellence (Sports) Scholarships for students who will be in Years 9, 10 or 11 in 2027.
The Knox School’s General Excellence (Sports) Scholarship program requires applicants to demonstrate excellence across multiple areas, including academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities. Specifically, candidates need to demonstrate strong sporting performance at a community level.
Applications are open to students currently enrolled at TKS, future students confirmed for 2027, and students not attending or enrolled at TKS. Applicants must be Australian citizens or hold permanent residency status.
The closing date for applications is Monday 20 July 2026.
Key Requirements:
Sporting Achievements: Involvement and achievement demonstrated across single or multiple community sports and/or State or National level representation.
Academic Excellence: Demonstrated academic achievement and potential.
Leadership and Service: Evidence of active leadership and involvement in school or community service, including active participation in House events and activities.

- Letter of introduction by the student addressed to the Principal in support of their application, highlighting their sporting background and clubs they belong to and listing what levels and divisions they participate in.
- Letter of introduction by the parents to support their child’s application and why TKS is their school of choice.

- All NAPLAN reports

Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by the Principal, along with a panel of key staff that includes the Head of Sport Strategy, Programs & Pathways.
Interviews
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an interview to further assess their suitability.

The Knox School’s General Excellence (Languages) Scholarship program requires applicants to demonstrate excellence across multiple areas, including academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities.
Applications are open to students currently enrolled at TKS, future students confirmed for 2027, and students not attending or enrolled at TKS. Applicants must be Australian citizens or hold permanent residency status.

Key Requirements:
- Students will commit to the study of French or Chinese up to and including Year 12.
- Students who speak French or Chinese at home are eligible; however, no preferential weighting is given for native or heritage background in either language.

- The following documents are to be uploaded within the Application form:
- Letter of introduction by the student addressed to the Principal in support of their application, providing an overview of their prior language-learning experience, participation in co-curricular activities related to language, culture and global citizenship. If known, please indicate the applicant’s language level using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). For example, A1, A2, B1 etc.
- A supplementary piece of writing in the target language to demonstrate the level of student proficiency. The student should provide an introduction about themselves and their interests and, where possible, some key information on their passion for language and global citizenship.
- A video recording (or web-based link to a recording) of the applicant speaking in the target language (French or Chinese). The video recording should include a short introduction about themselves and, if language proficiency permits, reasons for applying for the scholarship. Please note that current proficiency in the language is not a direct indicator for success in the application.
- A portfolio of related experience with evidence of language proficiency, involvement in enrichment or leadership activities and examples of cultural engagement. Evidence may include:
- Certificates from involvement in language-based competitions (e.g. Berthe Mouchette, Language Olympiads)
- Evidence of language achievements (e.g. involvement in cultural clubs or awards for language study)
- Evidence of cultural engagement and global citizenship (e.g. participation in languages weeks or festivals, involvement in exchanges and/or excursions)
- Evidence of involvement in leadership roles (e.g. volunteering at cultural events, mentoring others in the study of language, leadership roles relating to language and culture)
- Letter of introduction by the parents to support their child’s application and why TKS is their school of choice.

The Knox School’s General Excellence (Performing Arts) Scholarship program requires applicants to demonstrate excellence across multiple areas, including academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities.
Applications are open to students currently enrolled at TKS, future students confirmed for 2027, and students not attending or enrolled at TKS. Applicants must be Australian citizens or hold permanent residency status.

Involvement and achievement demonstrated across multiple fields in extracurricular activities or performing arts programs.
Students will commit to participation in the annual School Production, House Arts Carnival and other activities suitable to their field in performing arts.
Academic Excellence: Demonstrated academic achievement and potential.
Leadership and Service: Evidence of active leadership and involvement in performing arts activities.

- Complete the General Excellence (Performing Arts) Scholarship Application form HERE.
- The following items are to be uploaded within the application form:
- Letter of introduction by the student addressed to the Principal in support of their application, highlighting their performing arts background and involvement in extracurricular activities or performing arts programs.
- Letter of introduction by the parents to support their child’s application and why TKS is their school of choice.
- A video recording showcasing the applicant’s ability in their performing arts field. The recordings could be specific for this application and/or can incorporate previously filmed performances of no more than 6 months before the application is submitted. Please submit a web-based link to stream the video (YouTube or Vimeo) or a link to download the file (Dropbox or WeTransfer).
- Copies of Semester 1 2026 and Semester 2 2025 school reports
- All NAPLAN reports

The Knox School will offer a limited number of Academic Scholarships for students who will be in Years 7, 9, and 10 in 2027 and is open to external, current and future TKS students. In applying, please be aware that in addition to the testing, the applicant must also submit a portfolio including school reports.

- Applications closing date: Friday 6 February 2026 at 5pm

2. Complete the 2027 Academic Scholarship Application Form with The Knox School (free). The following documents are to be submitted in PDF format:

- All NAPLAN reports
- A handwritten letter of introduction by the student addressed to the Principal, Ms Nikki Kirkup to support their application and why they would like to attend The Knox School.
- A letter of introduction from the parents explaining the reasons behind choosing TKS as the preferred school and the value they can bring to the TKS community.
To apply (current TKS students):
1. Complete the 2027 Academic Scholarship Testing Application Form with Edutest and select The Knox School. Application fee for testing is $120 payable to Edutest.
2. Complete the 2027 Academic Scholarship Application Form with The Knox School (free). The following documents are to be submitted in PDF format:
- Semester 1 and 2, 2025 school reports
- All NAPLAN reports
- A handwritten letter by the student addressed to the Principal, Ms Nikki Kirkup highlighting achievements to date and evidence of participation and contribution to the school and its values.
- A letter from parent(s) endorsing the application, emphasising the school’s positive impact on their child’s growth and development of character.
Criteria for Selection (in addition to completing the exam)
• Demonstrated academic achievement and potential
• Demonstrated commitment to The Knox School Values
• Excellence in one or more academic areas, STEM, Arts, Humanities etc
• High level of engagement with all curriculum and co-curricular activities
• Evidence of leadership within the school environment
• Evidence of positive contribution to a range of school activities
N.B. Students living in Australia on either a student or temporary resident visa are not eligible to apply.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by a scholarship committee based on examination results and portfolios submitted. Please note that the exam results remain the property of The Knox School and are not provided to parents.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted and invited in with their parents to meet the Principal. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email once shortlisting is completed.
