On Friday 4 September, the Hockey Pitch was transformed into a vibrant hub of activity as families, alumni, staff, students and car enthusiasts gathered for The Knox School’s annual Father’s Day Car Show in support of Drive Against Depression.
Now in its fourth year, the event has become a much-anticipated fixture on the TKS calendar, bringing together a shared passion for cars with an important message around mental health awareness and connection.
Visitors enjoyed an impressive display of speciality vehicles, while student bands kept the atmosphere lively with performances from the Futures Hub Deck throughout the afternoon. Families also enjoyed table tennis, raffle prizes and plenty of opportunities to connect with others across the community.
The event continues to build on a tradition established by former School Captain Eshan Mirash, who led this year’s event with the support of the Prefects and Student Leadership Portfolio Team (SLPT). Together with a dedicated team of alumni, students and staff, they created a welcoming and purposeful community event that supports mental health awareness through Drive Against Depression.

“The fourth Annual TKS Father’s Day Car Show was a fantastic celebration, bringing together students, families, staff, alumni, car enthusiasts and sponsors with incredible enthusiasm and support for Drive Against Depression and its important mental health initiatives. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute as an alumnus and mentor, supporting the current students in organising such a successful event. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered their time to help make the day such a success. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event!”
Alumnus and co-organiser Ahmed Tawfik reflected on the impact the event continues to have on the wider community.
“This year’s Father’s Day Car Show once again showed the power of community. From the staff, alumni and student volunteers who helped organise the day to our sponsors and supporters, everyone played a part in shining a light on mental health. The most memorable moments were the simple ones: families enjoying the cars together, people connecting with others and conversations taking place throughout the afternoon. Four years into our partnership with Drive Against Depression, the event continues to give people a reason to come together and a space to feel less alone. Thank you to everyone who supported the day and helped open the door to important conversations around mental health.”
Alumnus and co-organiser Alex Stefanakos was proud to see the School community come together in support of the cause.
“The 2026 Father’s Day Car Show was a great success for the entire school community who came together to support a fantastic cause. It was terrific to see all the spectacular cars on display and to inspire some passion for cars in our younger students. I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to return to the School in a capacity where I could support the leadership team in creating such a fantastic event. I can’t wait to see everyone at the 2027 edition!”
Beyond the impressive vehicles and family-friendly atmosphere, the Father’s Day Car Show continues to demonstrate the power of student-led initiatives and the lasting impact they can have. Thanks to the support of volunteers, sponsors, alumni, students, staff and families, the event once again provided an opportunity not only to enjoy a shared interest, but also to encourage important conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
The Knox School extends its sincere thanks to Drive Against Depression, Wheelwork Customs, Macchina Veloce Car Club, Melbourne Prestige Auto Repairs (MPAR), participating vehicle owners, TKS Prefects and Student Leadership Portfolio Team (SLPT), the TKS Music Department and DJ Sparkle, alumni, parent ambassadors, volunteers and the many community members whose support helped make the event such a success.
As the Father’s Day Car Show continues to grow, it remains a powerful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful outcomes come from simply bringing people together. Through a shared passion for cars and a commitment to supporting mental health, the event continues to create connections, spark important conversations and strengthen the TKS community.
