On Friday 14 March 2025, our Early Learning Centre students joyfully celebrated the vibrant festival of Holi, a festival known for its rich cultural significance and lively expressions of joy. Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, marks the arrival of spring and is celebrated with an explosion of colourful powders, dance, music and communal spirit.

Young students participated in a creative and meaningful activity to bring the festival’s essence to life. The day began with a special celebration where the students learned about the importance of Holi. They then took part in an interactive art project that symbolized the spirit of connection and unity – a central theme of the Holi festival. They even got some special visitors – our Principal, Nikki Kirkup, and our Head of Junior School, Simon Cowell!

The students created handprint templates and used them to dip in colourful paints, connecting their handprints with those of their classmates. This simple yet significant activity allowed them to physically express the theme of togetherness, recognition, and celebration as they came together as a community, linking their hands and experiences.

Throughout the day, students and staff shared personal experiences and reflections about the meaning of Holi and how it’s celebrated; it was a beautiful opportunity for our young learners to embrace the joy of the festival while fostering a sense of belonging and cultural appreciation. It was a wonderful celebration of colour, creativity, and connection that highlighted the power of community and shared experiences in our Early Learning Centre.
