We were thrilled to host the much-anticipated 2026 Year 12 Formal on Friday 20 February at The Grand on Princes. Dressed elegantly in formal attire, our students enjoyed a spectacular evening featuring a delicious three-course meal, a professional photographer, a photobooth and a DJ who kept the dance floor buzzing all night long.
The Formal is always a highlight of the school calendar, and this year’s celebration was no exception. The evening was filled with laughter, joy and a strong sense of accomplishment as our Year 12 cohort gathered to mark the beginning of the final chapter of their Senior School journey.
The evening kicked off with a warm welcome from our Head of Senior Students (Years 11 & 12), Ms Emer Fox, who encouraged students to pause, embrace the moment and take a well-deserved break from the demands of Year 12 to create memories that will last a lifetime. She concluded with a poignant quote from Taylor Swift:
“Hold onto the memories, and they will hold onto you.”
Between energetic moments on the dance floor, student leaders addressed their peers with heartfelt speeches reflecting on their years together and the bonds they have formed. Their words were both inspiring and deeply appreciative of the unwavering support shown by teachers, families and friends throughout their schooling.
The Student Formal Committee added an extra layer of fun with light-hearted awards including “Most Likely to Become a Millionaire” which brought plenty of laughter to the evening. Student representatives also reminded their peers to savour every moment and truly live in the present.
A special acknowledgement goes to our 2026 Formal Committee: Hasi Jayawickarema, Ellie Aylen, Zeik Kandasamy, Emilio Hobbs, Danica Morias, Aimen Mohiddin, Jehan Meewathurage, Rishit Khurana, Ezekiel Kandasamy, Graci Quin, Hannah Abdel-Hafez and Ronal Weerasekara. Their hard work and dedication ensured the night was both seamless and memorable.
Students had a ball and danced the night away, celebrating not only how far they have come but also the exciting journey that lies ahead.
A heartfelt thank you to the many students, families and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event such a success. Without your support, this wonderful evening would not have been possible.
It was truly a night of celebration, reflection and anticipation for the future. Our Year 12 students shone brightly, and the 2026 Formal will be remembered fondly by all.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
