House Spirit Week was a vibrant and highly successful celebration of competition, participation and School spirit, bringing students together across year levels and Houses in a week filled with excitement and camaraderie. Organised by the House and Community Student Led Portfolio Team (SLPT), the event was the culmination of weeks of careful planning, brainstorming, and preparation to create a program that would engage students and strengthen the sense of community within TKS.

Throughout the week, students had the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of activities designed to showcase teamwork, creativity, athleticism, and knowledge. The competition began with a lively Year 10–12 Kahoot Trivia Challenge, where students tested their knowledge across a variety of topics while earning valuable points for their Houses. The enthusiasm and competitive spirit on display set the tone for the week ahead.

One of the most anticipated events was the Senior School Tunnel Ball Competition. Students demonstrated impressive teamwork, communication, and determination as they worked together to achieve the fastest times for their Houses. The competition generated plenty of excitement and House pride, with students enthusiastically cheering on their teammates.

Year 8 and 9 had the opportunity to shine through the Paper Plane Competition. Students combined creativity, engineering, and problem-solving skills to design planes capable of achieving maximum distance and flight time. The event proved to be both entertaining and highly competitive, with many impressive designs taking to the air.

For Year 7 students, the Dodgeball Tournament provided a fast-paced and energetic challenge. Teams competed with great enthusiasm, displaying teamwork, agility, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. The event quickly became a crowd favourite, with students eagerly supporting their Houses from the sidelines.

The week concluded with a Talent Show open to all, providing a platform for performers to showcase their unique skills and passions. The audience was treated to an impressive variety of acts, highlighting the diverse talents within the TKS community. Performances ranged from musical presentations to creative acts that captivated the crowd and demonstrated the confidence and dedication of participants. A standout performance came from Nicholas Ramirez, who was awarded Best Performer for his exceptional piano and singing performance.

Across the week, Chisholm House emerged victorious in the Kahoot Trivia Challenge, Tunnel Ball Competition, and Paper Plane Competition, demonstrating consistent strength across multiple events. Lawrence House celebrated success in both the Dodgeball Tournament and the Talent Show, showcasing outstanding teamwork and creativity.

Daily announcements, leaderboard updates, and enthusiastic House support helped maintain momentum throughout the week, creating a positive atmosphere and encouraging broad participation from students across the school. The friendly rivalry between Houses fostered a strong sense of belonging and gave students numerous opportunities to connect with their peers beyond the classroom.

House Spirit Week once again highlighted the importance of community, participation, and School pride. The energy, enthusiasm, and support demonstrated by students throughout the week made the event a memorable success. We hope the strong sense of House spirit and community fostered during the celebrations continues to grow, ensuring that House Spirit Week remains a cherished TKS tradition for many years to come.
