As part of our innovative elective Impact Innovators, students have been working in partnership with Orana House, a local community organisation, to identify real-world challenges and create meaningful solutions. The program brings together skills from Humanities, Technology, Art and Design, empowering students to make a genuine difference through creativity and collaboration.
Students have been working in teams on several exciting projects to enhance Orana House’s facilities, including building a pizza oven, designing a zen garden, and developing a joint charity initiative with the Orana House community. These projects will also feature at both the Twilight Festival on Thursday 28 November and the Orana House Christmas Celebration, showcasing the progress and partnerships formed through the program.
To help fund these initiatives, students held their second fundraiser on Friday 14 November, selling pizzas, Zooper Doopers and soft drinks. The event was a huge success, with the TKS community coming together to support a great cause and contribute to the students’ projects.
We look forward to welcoming the Orana House community to our Twilight Festival and invite everyone to visit our Impact Innovators showcase on Tuesday 2 December to see the creativity and care behind these projects.
