The Count’s at Monash University once again provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of jazz, funk and big band brilliance as The Knox School’s student musicians took to the stage for Jazz Night 2026. Families, friends and staff enjoyed an evening of live music that showcased the depth of talent across our instrumental and vocal programs.
The concert featured performances from Stage Band, Brass Band and Big Band, with each ensemble bringing its own energy and style to the program. From swinging classics and contemporary jazz works to powerful ensemble pieces, students performed with confidence and musicianship in a professional performance setting.
A major highlight of the evening was the impressive lineup of featured soloists. Congratulations to Shawn F (Year 8), Dhaani N (Year 8), Avina A (Year 9), Riley C (Year 9), Cooper G (Year 11), Hudson M (Year 10), Mason M (Year 8), Ethan P (Year 10), Joseph T (Year 9), Ron W (Year 12), Rafael D (Year 11) and Daniel S (Year 11), who stepped into the spotlight with memorable performances that captivated the audience. Their individuality, musical expression and stage presence added something special to the night.
The program also included a collaborative performance by Oak T (Year 12) and Isabella P-B (Year 10), highlighting the creativity and versatility of our student musicians.
The evening concluded with a performance from the TKS Staff Band, a fitting finale that celebrated the shared love of music across our school community.
Congratulations to all students who performed and to the Music Department staff who have supported them throughout the year. Jazz Night 2026 was a wonderful celebration of live music, bringing together students from across year levels and reminding us of the excitement that happens when talent, preparation and performance meet on stage.
