Laughter, amazement and plenty of impressive yo-yo tricks filled the auditorium as Junior School students recently enjoyed The NED Show – Resiliency Ride, an engaging character education program designed to inspire positive attitudes and lifelong habits.

Presented to students from ELC4 to Year 6, the interactive show combined storytelling, humour, magic and audience participation to explore three simple but powerful messages that form the foundation of the NED mindset:

  • Never Give Up
  • Encourage Others
  • Do Your Best

Throughout the performance, students were encouraged to think about how resilience, perseverance and kindness can help them navigate challenges both at school and beyond. Through entertaining demonstrations and relatable stories, the presenter highlighted the importance of maintaining a positive mindset, supporting others and approaching every opportunity with effort and determination.

A particular highlight was the spectacular yo-yo demonstrations, which captivated students while reinforcing the idea that success often comes through practice, persistence and a willingness to learn from mistakes.

The NED Show aligns closely with The Knox School’s commitment to developing confident, compassionate and resilient learners. By exploring the values of perseverance, encouragement and personal excellence, students were reminded that leadership begins with everyday choices and actions.

Long after the final yo-yo trick, students left with a clear message: when we never give up, encourage those around us and always do our best, we can achieve more than we might imagine.
