On the Field and In the Arena

Strength, strategy and spirit define sport at The Knox School. From the roar in the Sports Centre to crisp mornings on the snow and the fast decisions of orienteering, our students tested themselves, backed their teams and showed calmness under pressure. What follows is a snapshot of performances built on practice, composure and trust.

Our Boys Volleyball Gold team claimed the EISM Grand Final at TKS against Kilvington Grammar, a reward for a season built on trust, clear roles and calm decision-making under the guidance of Mr Neil Johnson.

In Orienteering, Aeon Greenhan (Year 12) won the Year 11–12 Boys sprint, with Opus Greenhan second in Year 5–6 Boys and Eofy Greenhan first in Year 3–4 Boys. The Knox School topped the senior division and placed second overall in the primary division.

For those new to the sport, orienteering asks students to read the landscape, plan on the move, and make quick, smart choices, the kind of agile thinking that serves them well beyond competition.

On the slopes, Elva Qi ranked 13th in Div 6 Girls Ski Cross and 16th in Div 6 Girls Alpine Giant Slalom, while Aaron Guan ranked 19th in Div 4 Boys Moguls. Both now progress to Nationals.

At the Victorian Artistic Skating Championships, sisters Annie and Angela Cao excelled. Annie won the State title in compulsory dance and placed fourth in Free Dance, while Angela won silver in Figures and Free Dance and placed fourth in Compulsory Dance. Angela then represented Victoria at the 2025 Australian Artistic Skating Championships over the holidays, earning silver in Figures and bronze in Free Dance.

Over the Term 2 break, Samaaya Gunasekera (Year 9) represented at the National Athletics Championships in Perth.

Peonie Poon (Year 11) placed eighth at an interstate ice skating event on 8 August 2025.

Closer to home, our Junior School shone at the District Athletics Carnival on 12 September 2025 at the Bill Stewart Athletics Track in Burwood. Forty-five students in Years 4 to 6 took part, with eight progressing to Divisional: Rochelle Tang, Ryan Abeywardana, Emily Reid, Emily Hawke, Celine Yu, Navid Dilshard Anzary.

Well done to every competitor and coach, and thank you to the families who cheered from the sidelines.
