On Friday 13 March, our School community came together for Pink Stumps Day – a fun and meaningful lunchtime cricket match organised by the TKS Sports Student Leadership Team, led by Prefects Max Worthy and Aleisha Cormick.

Students from each year level took part in a friendly game of cricket competing against teachers. It was heartwarming to see many students come along to watch their fellow classmates, cheer from the sidelines, and show their support by wearing a touch of pink. It was fantastic to see such strong School spirit and encouragement for those taking part.

Pink Stumps Day was traditionally held to raise awareness for breast cancer, but it has now expanded to recognise all cancers. With around 1 in 2 Australians diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, it is an issue that touches nearly every family and community. Events such as Pink Stumps Day at TKS help raise awareness and remind us of the importance of compassion, support, and standing together.

This year’s event also acknowledged International Women’s Day, highlighting themes of strength, resilience, and community. It was a wonderful afternoon that combined friendly competition with an opportunity to show respect and solidarity for those currently battling cancer, as well as those who have been affected by it.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported from the sidelines, and helped make the day both meaningful and memorable.
