Prep - Year 2 Mini Olympics: A Celebration of Movement and Joy
On Thursday, 9 October, our youngest learners took centre stage at the annual Mini Olympics on the back oval. Students in Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 rotated through twelve exciting stations designed to develop and showcase their Fundamental Movement Skills, including running, hopping, throwing, balancing and jumping.
Supported by our Year 6 leaders, each station offered opportunities for teamwork, encouragement and fun. The older students led with care and enthusiasm, cheering on the younger participants and helping them build confidence as they tackled each challenge.
Parents and families joined the celebration, filling the oval with applause and smiles. The wind may have been strong, but it didn’t dampen the energy or excitement of the afternoon. Every student gave their best effort, celebrating small victories and showing great sportsmanship.
The Mini Olympics captures what learning looks like at TKS, active, connected, and full of joy. Through movement and play, our students grow in skill, confidence, and community spirit.
