It was an unforgettable day filled with excitement, energy and community spirit as students from Years 1 to 12 laced up their running shoes for our annual Cross-Country event. Held entirely on our beautiful school campus, the day brought together the whole school community in a celebration of physical fitness, perseverance and fun.
From the youngest Year 1 students to our experienced Year 12 students, every student had the opportunity to challenge themselves on the course. Cheered on by peers and staff, the runners gave it their all, pushing through the course with determination and enthusiasm.
Beyond the race itself, the day featured a range of fun activities that added to the festive atmosphere. Junior students battled it out in a friendly Tug of War, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm, while Senior students brought their competitive edge to spirited games of Dodgeball.
Adding to the electric atmosphere was none other than Mr Morais — also known as DJ Sparkles — who kept spirits high with a non-stop playlist of hit music. His upbeat tunes helped motivate students as they powered through the final stretches of the race.
The event also saw some outstanding performances from our school Houses. In a close competition, different Houses triumphed across both Junior and Senior divisions, reflecting the depth of talent and teamwork across year levels. The competition was fierce across all age groups, with Houses giving it their all in both the Junior and Senior events. In the Junior Cross Country, Flinders claimed first place, followed by Chisholm in second, Lawrence in third, and Paterson in fourth. The Senior Cross Country saw Chisholm take the top spot, with Lawrence close behind in second, Flinders in third, and Paterson in fourth.
The coveted House Spirit Award was proudly won by Chisholm, whose energy and enthusiasm stood out across the day. Paterson earned a well-deserved second place, while Flinders and Lawrence shared third, each showing outstanding encouragement and camaraderie throughout the event.
The day concluded on a high note with the Senior students proudly performing their House chants, a tradition that never fails to showcase the deep pride and unity within our school community. Students who performed exceptionally well in the House Cross Country will now go on to represent TKS at the EISM Cross Country event, which is set to take place in late Term 3. We look forward to seeing them take their talents to the next level.
Congratulations to everyone who participated and contributed to making the event such a memorable success!
