Senior School House Volleyball Competition

The Senior School House Volleyball competition was held across Week 5 and Week 6 of this term, with students from Years 7 to 12 showcasing their skills during the lunchtime tournament.

The event featured a series of preliminary matches, leading up to an exciting grand finale. Students impressed both their teammates and spectators with their energy, teamwork, and determination on the court.

Volleyball is a unique team sport in our House program. Unlike more mainstream sports such as football or basketball, volleyball relies on constant communication, trust and shared responsibility. Every player has a role to play on every point, whether serving, setting or spiking. The sport encourages students to develop resilience, quick decision-making, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Importantly, it reminds players that mistakes are part of the game, and learning the lessons in a mistake or a loss is just as valuable as winning.

Our House competitions at TKS bring this spirit to life throughout the year. Whether on the volleyball court, athletics track or debating stage, students compete with passion for their House while also building friendships and respect across year levels. These events foster healthy competitiveness, but they also teach humility in defeat, courage in performance, and the importance of celebrating others’ successes.

Congratulations to all students who participated and contributed to such an exciting and competitive event. The competition was a reminder that House spirit is not just about winning; the overall competition is about growth, resilience, and enjoying the journey together.
