Our talented Falcon Strings and Dolce Strings musicians from Years 3 to 6 recently enjoyed a dynamic and inspiring music incursion with special guest Karen Kyriakou – a highly respected music educator, composer and violinist.

Throughout the morning, students had the opportunity to step into the roles of both composers and performers. Under Karen’s expert guidance, they explored creative music-making in fun and interactive ways, strengthening their skills while expressing themselves musically.

Our Head of Music and Performing Arts, Nico Di Stefano, shared this:

Karen Kyriakou is a highly respected figure in Australian music education, with over 25 years of experience across all learning levels, from kindergarten to tertiary and beyond. We were delighted to welcome a musician of her calibre to The Knox School and look forward to the lasting impact of her visit on our young musicians.

Karen’s visit was a highlight for many of our string students, who responded with great enthusiasm to her innovative and inclusive teaching style. Her passion for music, especially its power to connect and inspire, was evident in every moment of the workshop.
