There was great excitement across campus recently as students from both Junior and Senior School welcomed special guests from the Hawthorn Football Club.
Our Years 4, 5 and 6 students enjoyed an unforgettable session with experienced players Jack Gunston and Connor Nash, alongside rising young talents Henry Hustwaite and Bodie Ryan.
Students were treated to an engaging Q&A session where they asked thoughtful and enthusiastic questions about training, teamwork, resilience and life as elite athletes. The excitement continued as students received autographed posters and had their photos taken with the players – smiles all around!
After school, it was the Senior School’s turn to join the action. Students were thrilled to be joined on the TKS Oval by Hawks Captain James Sicily, along with Connor McDonald, Will McCabe, James Blanck, Jack Gunston, Connor Nash, Henry Hustwaite and Bodie Ryan for a kick on the oval, followed of course by even more photos and autographs.
The players were incredibly generous with their time and showed genuine interest and respect for our students. TKS sincerely thanks the staff at AFL Game Development for facilitating this fantastic opportunity.
AFL Nines Program Coming to TKS
We are excited to announce that AFL Game Development staff will be delivering a 4-week AFL Nines Program for students in Years 7–10, commencing Tuesday 10th March. Sessions will run every Tuesday afternoon from 3.30pm – 4.30pm on the TKS Oval.
What is AFL Nines?
AFL Nines is the ultimate social, tackle-free and fast-paced football format designed for everyone aged 13+. With 20-minute halves and smaller 9-a-side teams, it provides a fun, low-pressure and inclusive way to stay active. It’s about mates, not medals, making it a flexible and safe way to enjoy Aussie Rules football, suited to all abilities.
Thanks to a special $15 discount for TKS students, the program cost will be $20 per participant. Even better, each participant will receive a free AFL Nines football at the final session.
