Last Friday 20 March, our TKS Falcon Squad Students participated in an exciting and enriching excursion to the St Kilda Football Club, where they took part in the Recover Right program at the Danny Frawley Centre for Health and Wellbeing.
This unique experience gave students an insight into elite-level recovery practices used by professional athletes to enhance both physical and mental performance. The program combined theoretical learning with hands-on experience, allowing students to deepen their understanding of effective recovery strategies.
During the theory component, students reflected on their own recovery habits while learning how recovery is managed in high-performance sporting environments. The practical session provided an exciting opportunity to trial a range of recovery methods, including Normatec recovery boots, infrared saunas, and cold-water immersion (ice baths).
Many students showed great courage stepping into the ice baths – some even immersing their shoulders! Despite a few squeals, students embraced the challenge and reported feeling refreshed and energised afterwards.
A fantastic experience for all involved.
