Our Year 6 debaters put their voices, quick thinking and teamwork to the test yesterday, representing The Knox School in an interschool debating competition at Melbourne Grammar School’s Grimwade House.

And they certainly made their mark, with TKS students named Best Speaker in three of our four teams. Congratulations to Kanusha K, Olivia N and Maggie D on this fantastic achievement.

The competition was another exciting opportunity for our students to put their debating skills into practice, developing persuasive arguments, listening carefully to different perspectives and responding thoughtfully under pressure.

It continues an exciting first year for Junior School debating at TKS. Earlier this year, students took part in an interschool competition at Carey Baptist Grammar School as part of our new enrichment debating program. Since then, students have continued to build their confidence, critical thinking, teamwork and ability to think on the spot.

Congratulations to all our Year 6 debaters for embracing the challenge and representing TKS with confidence and enthusiasm, and a special congratulations to our three Best Speaker award recipients.

What a brilliant result for our young debaters!
