The Knox School proudly celebrated the Class of 2026 at the Valedictory Dinner on Friday 16 October, bringing together students, families, staff and special guests for an evening of reflection, gratitude and celebration at the Vogue Ballroom. While the event honoured the many achievements and milestones of the graduating cohort, it also marked the beginning of the next chapter, recognising the knowledge, skills and character they will carry with them into the future.

Throughout the evening, students were encouraged to reflect on the experiences, friendships and opportunities that have shaped their time at TKS, while looking ahead with confidence to the exciting pathways that await beyond graduation.

A highlight of the evening was an inspiring address from TKS alumna Jaspreet Sidhu, a proud member of the Class of 1996. Reflecting on a career journey that has spanned nursing, healthcare leadership, clinical research and public health, she shared an important message with students:

“Life rarely unfolds according to a carefully mapped-out plan. Instead, it is curiosity, courage and a willingness to embrace new opportunities that often lead to the most meaningful experiences.”

“You do not need to have your whole life figured out,” she reminded students, encouraging them to stay open to change, pursue new opportunities and trust that their first decision after school does not have to be their final one. Her reflections on resilience, selfless service and the importance of being “a good human” resonated strongly with students and families alike.

Students were also encouraged to define success not only by personal achievement, but by the difference they make in the lives of others. Drawing on the Sikh principle of seva, or selfless service, Jaspreet reflected that the moments that mattered most throughout her career were those where she made a positive impact, helped others succeed or contributed to something larger than herself.

In a heartfelt speech on behalf of families, Victoria Little, mother of School Captain Jackson, reflected on her family’s introduction to The Knox School a decade ago. She recalled a comment made during their first school tour that left a lasting impression:

“At TKS, we turn out good people.”

Looking around the room at the graduating cohort, she shared her confidence that the statement had proven true, describing the Class of 2026 as respectful, independent, hardworking and compassionate young people.

Her speech also paid tribute to the many people who have supported students throughout their school years. From parents and caregivers to teachers, mentors and friends, she acknowledged the collective effort behind every graduate’s success, reminding students that no one reaches such a milestone alone. “It takes a village,” she reflected, encouraging the graduating class to recognise and celebrate those who have helped them along the way.

The evening served as a fitting celebration of a year level known for its warmth, spirit and strong sense of community. It was an opportunity to honour not only academic achievement, but also the friendships, experiences and personal growth that have shaped the Class of 2026 throughout their time at The Knox School.

As the School community celebrates this significant milestone, attention now turns to the final VCE examinations beginning next week. The entire TKS community stands proudly behind the Class of 2026, wishing them confidence, calm and every success as they complete this final chapter of their school journey. We look forward to seeing the many ways they will continue to learn, lead and contribute in the years ahead.
