Year 11 Legal Studies Visit Ringwood Magistrates’ Court
Year 11 Legal Studies Magistrates Court Visit
On Tuesday 11 November, our Year 11 Legal Studies students visited the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court for an engaging and insightful excursion.
The visit was made possible through the generous support of Magistrate Jason Ong, a parent and valued member of our TKS community, who has been a long-standing supporter of the Legal Studies program. Over the past three years, Magistrate Ong has hosted students in his courtroom and delivered in-person sessions on campus, giving students valuable opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world application.
During the excursion, students took part in a discussion session with Magistrate Ong and his colleagues, exploring how the legal concepts they study are applied within the criminal justice system. They also had the opportunity to observe real cases being heard, gaining a first-hand understanding of how evidence, reasoning and judgement come together in the courtroom.
We thank Magistrate Ong for his continued generosity, mentorship and support of our students’ learning, and wish him every success in his new posting next year.
