Turning Trash into Treasure at the Year 3 and ELC 4 Trashion Show

On Thursday, 16 October, the Auditorium was buzzing with colour, creativity and excitement as our Year 3 students and their ELC 4 buddies took to the stage for this year’s Trashion Show. Proud parents, teachers and staff gathered to celebrate the students’ imaginative creations, all made from recycled materials.

The project saw Year 3 students partner with their younger ELC buddies during Buddy Time to design and construct outfits inspired by everyday items destined for the recycling bin. Together, they explored the importance of sustainability, creative problem-solving and teamwork, learning how to communicate and collaborate across different age groups.

During the showcase, each Year 3 student took to the stage with their buddy to present their collaborative creation and share the inspiration behind their design. To finish their moment in the spotlight, each ELC 4 student did a cheerful spin to show off their outfit.

From cardboard crowns to bottle-top accessories, every creation was a wonderful example of turning waste into something new and meaningful. The students concluded the show with a simple but powerful message: one person’s trash can truly be another person’s treasure.

The Trashion Show was a joyful reminder of how working together, thinking creatively and caring for our environment can lead to such extraordinary outcomes.
