Year 6 End of Year Celebration and Showcase

Our Year 6 End of Year Celebration was a warm and memorable occasion that captured the spirit of this cohort’s learning journey. The morning began at 8.00am, with families gathering over breakfast in the RRLC. Parents, guests and students mingled, shared stories and took photos to honour the many moments that have shaped the year.

Students then invited their families to explore The Year That Was by looking back through their workbooks together. As each page turned, students spoke proudly about key tasks, challenges and achievements. It was a meaningful opportunity for families to see the remarkable growth that has taken place across every subject from the start of the year to now.

Parents were encouraged to join in a selection of learning activities, including the maths games that often keep our students thinking deeply and the spelling challenges. These activities offered a playful insight into the high expectations our students embrace each day and the persistence that sits behind their progress.

A highlight of the morning was the sharing of the I Have a Dream projects. Students connected their learning to humanity, empathy and the world around them, showing maturity, courage and compassion in the way they expressed their ideas.

The celebration flowed into a full day of milestone events for our Year 6 students. Families joined the cohort for the Final Assembly in the Auditorium, followed by a well-earned excursion to Gumbuya World, and later the warmth and connection of the Twilight Festival, where all parents, friends and extended family members were welcome.

The day ended with plenty of smiles and a genuine sense of pride. Families left knowing their child has spent the year as a true agent of their own learning, ready to take confident next steps into Senior School.
