Our Year 9 Crews Not Passengers class embarked on an exciting two-day field trip to the Mornington Peninsula as part of their ongoing investigation into local waterways and coastal environments.
The immersive experience saw students hiking through the scenic Mornington Peninsula National Park, snorkelling in the clear waters off Sorrento and exploring the vibrant Martha Cove marina. Along the way, they engaged with environmental experts who shared valuable insights into the delicate balance of coastal ecosystems and the effects of human activity on these natural spaces.
The group spent the night at the Portsea Surf Life Saving Club, where they enjoyed stunning panoramic ocean views from the balcony—an inspiring setting for recording content for their upcoming podcast project.
Blessed with beautiful weather, the trip was both educational and enjoyable. Students returned with a deeper understanding of the coastal environment and plenty of firsthand material to support their learning in the CUBE subject.
