A night filled with photos, dancing and plenty of laughter, the 2026 Year 11 Social was truly one to remember.
On Friday 19 June, Year 11 students gathered at Hyatt Place for their first social event. Thoughtfully organised to create a relaxed and enjoyable evening, the celebration featured a hands-on photobooth, entertainment from DJ Sparkles, delicious canapés and a series of student-voted awards.
The social provided a wonderful opportunity for students to come together and celebrate their achievements following the completion of their Unit 1 VCE examinations.
The evening began with a warm welcome by Head of Senior Students (Years 11 &12), Ms Emer Fox, who warmly welcomed the cohort and set the tone for the celebrations to come. The music swelled throughout the night, creating a vibrant atmosphere between both presentations of awards and the laughter that followed. Award presenter, Aurelia C, left the Year 11s with a heartfelt message: ‘We know you have been waiting for this one… we can’t wait to see what more fun is to come’. Her words cannot better represent the spirit of the evening; a night of collective unity, embracing the warmth and connection within the year 11 cohort.
From Michael Jackson classics to upbeat Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber, the dance floor was alive with a roar of singing, dancing, and laughter. A standout moment included solo vocal features from both Cooper Gration and Daniel Spears, who awestruck the audience and created a soft, groovy ambience with their impressive performances.
We would also like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of the 2026 Social Committee, whose efforts helped bring the event to life. Thank you to Aarya Patel, Alex Bianchin, Aran Nota, Arien Manuel, Aurelia Cabrera, Avleen Chaggar, Belle Collins, Bonnie Lin, Crystal Lin, Frederick Long, Kaylah Pearce, Leah Na, Natalie Dauncey, Nicole Pranjic, Nishka Thota, Onaaya Abeyasinghe, Reese Lee, Reya Pandya, Ruby Low, Sabrina Stefanaggi, Somya Modi, Sophia Wang, Stephanie Jarvis, Su San Htar Maung, Vivian Nguyen, Yana Dave and Yuki Lin. Their commitment and teamwork played a significant role in creating such a successful event.
The evening demonstrated that it wasn’t just the event which made the occasion special, but rather the people who you shared it with, spanning both teachers, peers, and friends.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the Year 11 Social. The event showcased the strong sense of community that defines TKS and created memories that will be cherished by the Class of 2026 for years to come.
